Would you like to give your children the opportunity to experience the great kiwi outdoors?

We are starting the Legend Kids Adventure Club with the aim of getting more children and their families out enjoying the kiwi outdoors. As part of this, we send out adventure newsletters, run outdoor activities and have family challenge days . We are lucky to live in such a beautiful country with lots of space – let’s enjoy it!

We share our expertise in the outdoors to plan and lead outdoor trips for young people and their families. We rely on parents/caregivers to accompany children on trips to get good adult to child ratios.

What is happening now at the Adventure Club?

We are getting ready to launch the Adventure Club at the start of term 4 2010. We are running a few trips and courses before our official launch – if you want to know more details please contact us now. We are not putting this information on our website.

• Young Adventurer course: starting term 3, this course is for year 6 (some year 5’s may be able to join – ask for more info) children who would like to learn the skills to have enjoyable outdoor adventures. We meet once per week in the evening for 2hrs. Learn about outdoor survival, first-aid, good food preparation, map reading and compass work, setting up camp in the outdoors and planning for an outdoor expedition. Towards the end of term 3 we go on a 2 night expedition and put everything into practise. During term 3 this course is running at Hampden Street School  (Wed 5:00-7:00pm) and at Victory Community Centre (Tues 6:00-8:00pm).
